The Alpines (8-4) remained on top of the five-team senior circuit despite falling 3-0 and 3-1 to the two-time defending champ Charlottetown Gaudet’s Auto Body Islanders in a doubleheader July 5 at Victoria Park.
The Mets (5-10) edged the Royals (3-7) by a 6-5 margin July 4 at Royals Field and fell 5-2 to the Chatham Miramichi Honda Ironmen Sunday at Kiwanis Park. Fredericton earned a 6-5 victory over the Islanders (9-5) on Canada Day at home.
The Ironmen (8-7) were scheduled to host the Royals July 3 at Ironmen Field, but the game was rained out. No makeup date has been announced yet.
The Alpines also split a doubleheader against the Islanders (10-8) Sunday at home, losing the first game 11-9 and winning the second one 7-3.
The Alpines and Mets will face off Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Moncton. The Ironmen will entertain the Mets Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The Alpines will be in Fredericton Friday for a 7:30 p.m. showdown, and Chatham will visit Saint John for a doubleheader Saturday at 2 p.m. at Memorial Field.
The Royals will take on the Mets Sunday at 7 p.m. in the Hub City.
The Saint John Doiron Sports Alpines (10-5) held onto first place in the four-team New Brunswick Junior Baseball League despite dropping two of their last four games.
The Alpines edged the Metro Mudcats (7-4) by a 6-5 margin July 2 at Memorial Field before losing a doubleheader against the Chatham O’Donaghue’s Junior Ironmen (4-11) July 5 at Ironmen Field. Chatham took the first contest 3-2 and won the second game 10-3.
The Alpines bounced back Sunday with a 12-8 victory over the Ironmen in Miramichi. Chatham also fell 4-3 to the Mudcats July 3 at Kiwanis Park.
The Mudcats edged the Fredericton Simpson Junior Royals (6-6) 4-3 Monday at Kiwanis Park.
The Royals and Ironmen have a 7:30 p.m. date Wednesday at Ironmen Field. Fredericton will rematch with the Mudcats Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at home.
The Grand Falls McCain Cataractes (10-1) suffered their first loss of the 2025 Capital City Intermediate Baseball League campaign, an 11-9 setback at the hands of the Devon Boys Lawn Care Orioles (6-6) July 5 at home.
That followed a 5-4 win for the Cataractes over the Orioles July 4 at Veterans Field in Grand Falls.
The defending champ Woodstock Shiretowners (8-4) thumped the Oromocto Veteran Farmer Pioneers (0-8) 10-0 July 5 at the Dale Allen Field, leaving the Pioneers as the province’s only intermediate baseball team to remain winless on the season to date.
The Shiretowners will take on the Fredericton Launchpad Sports Expos (4-7) Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Royals Field, and the Pioneers and Orioles will play the first game of a home-and-home at 8:30 p.m. at Royals Field. The second game is Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Deer Park in Oromocto.

The Cataractes and Pioneers have a doubleheader slated for Saturday at noon in Oromocto.
The Southern New Brunswick Baseball League’s last week of games saw the Dieppe Cardinals (9-1) blank the Saint John Angels (4-5-1) 7-0 July 3 at Lakeburn Park, extending their lead over the second-place Saint John Mariners (4-3-1) in the six-team league to two and a half games.
The KV Red Sox (6-6) beat the Hampton Guardians (3-7-2) 7-5 July 3 in Hampton after blasting the Guardians 13-3 July 2 at Wells Recreational Field in Rothesay. The Cardinals also trounced the Lancaster Stingrays (2-7) 14-0 and 5-3 in a doubleheader Sunday at Lakeburn Park.
The Angels downed the Mariners 7-3 Monday at Memorial Field.
The Angels and Red Sox will meet Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in Rothesay. The Mariners will be in Dieppe Thursday at 8 p.m., and the Mariners and Guardians will hit the field Friday for a 6 p.m. start in Hampton.
The Guardians and Stingrays will do battle July 13 at 2 p.m. at Senior Lions Field in Grand Bay-Westfield.
The four-team Miramichi Valley Baseball League’s standings remain airtight heading into the first full week of July, as a mere two games separate first place from fourth.
Several games in the intermediate A circuit were rained out last week, but the Newcastle A&B Lumber Cardinals (5-5) edged the Chatham Head Tigers (4-4) 9-8 in extra innings July 2 at home. The Dalhousie Dodgers (5-5) also downed the defending champ Tracadie Aigles (4-4) 5-4 in extras July 4 in Dalhousie.
The Tigers will host the Dodgers Tuesday at 8 p.m. The Cardinals and Aigles will play a home-and-home this week, with games Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Tracadie and Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Newcastle. Chatham Head will be in Dalhousie Friday at 8 p.m.
