New Brunswick Men Fall to Québec Men After Big Sixth Inning

The Québec Men's team defeated the New Brunswick Men's team 12-2 on Thursday at Woodslee Park, Reg Chevalier Field, thanks to an explosive eight-run sixth inning.

Québec got on the board in the top of the second inning with Emile Boies doubling and David Gauthier grounding out, each driving in a run.

New Brunswick tied the game in the bottom of the third with a ground out by Josh Myers and a single by Cole MacLaren.

Jonathan Martin's solo home run to right field in the top of the fourth gave Québec a 3-2 lead. Moises Perez extended the lead with a solo home run to left field in the top of the fifth.

Québec's big sixth inning saw them score eight runs on five hits. Moises Perez hit a two-run homer to right field, François Lafrenière added a solo home run to left, an error brought in another run, Emile Boies doubled to score two more, and Edouard Savoie singled to drive in two additional runs.

Jordan Stevenson started for New Brunswick, allowing eight hits and four runs over four innings, with one strikeout and one walk. Charles Lefebvre opened for Québec, giving up eight hits and two runs over five innings, striking out four and walking none.

Justin Cormier, Mike McKay, and Max Grant each collected two hits for New Brunswick. Josh Myers and Cole MacLaren each drove in a run.

Québec tallied 14 hits in the game. Moises Perez hit two home runs, going 2-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Kevin Tremblay led Québec with three hits, going 3-for-4. Emile Boies and Moises Perez each drove in three runs. Michel Dagenais, François Lafrenière, and Edouard Savoie each had multiple hits. Québec was flawless in the field, committing no errors, with Michel Dagenais leading with five chances.

Next up for New Brunswick is a game against Newfoundland and Labrador on Thursday.
