The New Brunswick Men’s team triumphed over the British Columbia Men’s team with a 5-0 win on Friday at Woodslee Park, Reg Chevalier Field.
New Brunswick got on the scoreboard in the third inning when Cole MacLaren’s single brought in three runs.
Colby Lyle secured the win for New Brunswick, pitching seven innings without allowing any runs, giving up just three hits, striking out three, and walking none. Brendan Lyons took the loss for British Columbia, pitching three innings, allowing three runs on six hits, with no strikeouts and two walks.
New Brunswick collected a total of 10 hits during the game. Jonathan Arsenault led the team with three hits in four at-bats. Logan Gallant and Cole MacLaren each drove in two runs, while Josh Myers contributed two hits in four at-bats. The team was flawless in the field, committing no errors, with Ryne MacIsaac handling the most chances with eight.
For British Columbia, Grant Malm led with two hits in three at-bats, and the team turned two double plays.
Next up for New Brunswick is a game against the Ontario Host Men’s team on Saturday.
